The Inspiration

The Five Beloved Ones
This portrait honours the Panj Pyare—the Five Beloved Ones—whose unwavering love and complete surrender gave birth to the Khalsa on the Vaisakhi of 1699.
Created through the repeated writing of Waheguru, the painting reflects the Divine thread that united five individuals from different regions and backgrounds into one spiritual family. In answering Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s call with absolute trust, they offered not only their lives, but their very selves. Their surrender became the foundation upon which the Khalsa Panth was established.
The Panj Pyare embody the highest ideals of Sikhi: humility without weakness, courage without hatred, discipline rooted in compassion, and complete devotion to the Divine Will.
Perhaps their greatest legacy lies not only in the gift they offered to the Guru, but in the extraordinary moment that followed. Guru Gobind Singh Ji received Amrit from the very Five whom He had initiated, forever affirming the equality, dignity, and spiritual sovereignty of the Khalsa.
This painting is my humble tribute to those five luminous souls whose collective spirit continues to guide, inspire, and strengthen generations of Sikhs around the world.
